Hello and welcome!

I'm here, somewhere, the kettle is on, and I'm hoping for visitors. If you arrive safely, do let me know you're here by leaving a comment.

Eventually I shall post something, but today I'm flitting between two blog sites, and for a bear of little brain, that in itself is terribly taxing. Make yourselves a cup of tea, rummage in the tin for a biscuit, and make yourselves comfortable.

I'll be back soon.

Oh, and what about the cats' and dog's blog?

Please keep blogging - I know I rarely comment, but it's good to hear from you all the same.

    1. Hello Jan! The cats have been slack; perhaps not enough happens in their lives, and they're so lazy anyway. I shall chivvy them up a little.....

  3. Hi! Thanks for letting us know where you are. It sounds a very sensible decision to start again. And selfishly I am glad to see the back of Wordpress as it forever asked for my password and I never had a clue what it was, so commenting was a huge rigmarole. Hope everyone is well.

    1. Hello to you too. I'm relieved to be back with Blogger - it could be awkward at times, but Wordpress seemed intimidatingly techie to me, and I never understood the admin side of it.

  5. So tricky, negotiating the need for privacy while blogging about your life! I often think of starting again, and archiving a lot of what I wrote years ago, especially as life has changed so much in the decade or so since I began. Good to see you back on blogspot, but can't see a follow button. Now I need to go and put the kettle on in real time!

    1. I'm glad you mentioned the Follow button, Marianne, because I'm struggling to find out what to do to make this blog easy to navigate! I haven't found a way of part-archiving, and the options seem to be rather too drastic, hence the new blog. Now to get back into Settings and see what I can do.....

  7. Coffee with one sugar please. No cake, unless you have gluten-free. Just glad to hear that you have not gone for ever. Now, as for those lazy cats - anyone would think they were retired!

  14. It's sad that we have to take care about what we post, but better safe than sorry eh?. I have a private facebook group where family can share photos of the little ones safely. I've subscribed by email to receive notification of your posts on here.

  15. Happy to follow you here. I rarely comment but I would so miss you and those lazy kitties if you closed up shop completely. Glad I will not have to go through any withdrawal pains. ;) Wishes to you for a stress free blog change. And looking forward to sharing more tea and biscuits whenever possible.

Oh dear! On my first visit to your new digs I have to translate a message for Scooter & Co. Sporran says she's upset not to have heard from her friends for "ever such a long time..." She ought also apologise for not having updated her and Geiger's blog!
Anyway, we're all still here, treading water and considering changes.
Good luck with all the moving hassles!

  24. I'll always follow you Rachel. You're like a friend and you satisfy the Anglophile in me!
A few years ago the local pre school arranged for the toddlers to come trick or treating for Halloween. They were adorable and I took pics of them thinking it would make a great blog post but then I remembered that I should have permission from each and every parent, so....:(

  27. So pleased to know you haven't 'disappeared' - however quiet we bloggers become there remains an 'esprit de corps. I'd miss your ventures and adventures.

Difficult to know what to do when other people's live become involved. Having locals and neighbours looking over my shoulders has made me reticent in the past 12 months. Anyway, looking forward to reading more and you and yours and beautiful Somerset. Blog on!

    1. Yes, village life - while rich in blog material - can be inhibiting by its scrutiny and all-knowingness, can't it! Delighted to hear from you; surely you have something to update us with on your own blog? Just sayin'....

  28. I'm here! I really like your blog and would miss you and always wonder what happened to you if you disappeared. Don't worry I'm not a stalker because I also worry about the homeless people that hang out where I work, we usually have the same ones. Thank you for being around you are so good at cheering people up.

  30. Hmm, time to go back and re-read all your archives before you make them disappear. I re-read Slow Lane life (the original) and then dipped back into Two on occasion, so of course I'll follow you to Three. It's a little bit like stalking, but in the nicest possible way. Flossie captured me originally, and all the cats, but the Gardener and the grandson and your observations are good fodder too. We'll just have to paint the pictures in our minds eye...

    1. I often dip into my first blog, partly because it was written at such an eventful time in my life, and despite the sometimes traumatic ups and downs, was full and interesting to me. I wish I had some way of making the last one (SLL II) partly available, but haven't found out how - yet. Still, Blogger is a nicer blog base to use, so I may post more often. And include Flossie and the cats more - I hadn't quite appreciated how interested people were in them, when their lives are so routine!

    1. Of course, with advance warning. Our local Co-op stocks them, and, like their maple and pecan plaits, they sell out very quickly every morning. (You can tell we're very short of nice little patisseries here...... but the Co-op does its best.)

  32. I've arrived here and in company by the number of comments you have already. I SO understand about deleting photos of grandchildren - it's something I just can't do and also how hard it is to keep them private when you really just want to share such joy with the world! Carry on blogging and best of luck for Slow Life III

  37. Hi. I'm with you. I've followed both your previous blogs - although seldom commented (remiss of me). like you we moved to Somerset in 2011 and are very settled here. I only started my blog a year ago as my family are scattered abroad - a way of keeping the abreast of developments. I look forward to continuing reading yours - I enjoy your style and humour.
